Kinta Nature Park

Located somewhere in Batu Gajah, Perak, this nature park was claimed as the largest Heronry nesting around this area, and several species of birds cackling over the bushes and trees. Sometime ago in 2001, they developed this ex-mining land as tourist attraction and the same time preserving the beauty of nature. However, recently it was not maintained and managed as planned. (sources over the net).

Due to curiosity and the eagerness to try birding photography, we explored the place. About one hour travel from Ipoh. I have to say that the road going in to the park is very unforgiving, it was a 20min bumpy dirt ride.

We arrived at the place around 7:00am, just perfect for the sunrise, so we took some sunrise shots before having our "McDo breakfast meal".

At the entrance you will see the amenities like small canteen, entrance lobby, toilets, etc, that were already not utilized and maintain for quite sometime. Going straight 50m more then you will reach the watch tower and the snapping begins. I was using only my Minolta 70-210mm f4 lens, and i have to say it's a pain in the "a#$" focusing these birds. Moreover,  with just a little noise from your footsteps or voices then they are "Off" and away already. So it was like engaging in real war battle carrying our sniper rifles... Anyways, enjoy the photos below. All are mix of herons, birds and egrets in flight and in tree branches.
